Cleaning & Protection

At Cleaning and Protection, we specialize in upholstery cleaning, using either water-based or solvent cleaning chemicals depending on the fabrics being cleaned. While many fabric suppliers specify that their fabrics should only be professionally dry cleaned, we have found through experience and testing that a significant proportion of these fabrics can be quite satisfactorily professionally wet cleaned. Wet cleaning generally produces better results as a greater variety of chemicals can be used to treat staining/soiling. With on-site dry cleaning, we use specialized on-site dry cleaning machines for the application and extraction of the solvents/spirits applied.

Upholstery Cleaning

Our upholstery cleaning services cover all types of upholstered items, including sofas and headboards. Specialist Fabric Wall Cleaning

Baton-backed fabric walling is growing in popularity once again, and at Cleaning and Protection, we specialize in the on-site protection, cleaning, and maintenance of fabric walling. We use professional specifically designed dry cleaning machinery for all of our on-site work, working closely with Interior Designers and Fabric Walling installers to provide clients with a comprehensive maintenance programme. We provide an initial consultation and establish a maintenance programme, including fabric protection at installation and advice on interim maintenance and regular 18 months - 3 years inspection.

Curtain Cleaning and Protection

At Cleaning and Protection, we provide a comprehensive both on and off-site dry cleaning service for all types of curtaining (unlined, lined, interlined, or blackout lined), festoon and roman blinds, swag and tail pelmets, curtains, testers, back cloths, and other bed drapery. Our on-site curtain cleaning services use specialized solvent dry cleaning machines, thoroughly cleaning the fabric side and return leading edges of the curtain preceded by thorough power vacuuming of both the fabric and lining sides. Our off-site curtain cleaning procedure involves the taking down of curtaining, blinds and pelmeting, taking away, dry cleaning through our highly specialized machine, returning, rehanging, and steaming and dressing.
