Abrasive Air has been a family-run business since 1973, specializing in all types of blast and chemical cleaning. We deal with the removal of various coatings on metal, wood, stone, and brickwork. Our services range from the removal of heavy coatings on metal work to the restoration of old wooden beams, graffiti removal from stone or brickwork, and work on fire-damaged buildings. We also offer a high-pressure washing and steam cleaning service for various situations, including office blocks, patio, and timber decking cleaning, as well as the removal of chewing gum and unsightly substances on walls and pathways.

We have an expanding network of clients throughout the UK, including large companies and domestic customers. The company is managed by M. R and AJ Hogg, who have many years of experience in the grit blasting trade. We have worked with local councils, manor houses, and English heritage sites, making us well-qualified to handle any project. Our reputation for reliability and competence has secured us many contracts based on recommendations from previous customers. We also have a large photographic portfolio of past contracts.

Metal Blasting

We can blast any sort of metal, from steel bridges and structures to internal and external steel tanks, plant machinery, iron gates and railings, garden furniture, and car parts. We also apply protective coatings to ensure the longevity of the metal surfaces.

Stone & Brickwork Cleaning

This can be carried out using a Torc or Doff system. The Torc system gently blasts stone or brick without damaging them, while the Doff system uses superheated water up to 150 degrees, making it suitable for removing masonry paint, chewing gum, and other substances.

Wood Cleaning

Our timber cleaning services can be applied to both old and new wood. Old wood can be restored to its original state or to remove paint and varnish, exposing the natural wood. New wood can be cleaned to create a uniform finish, remove staining or saw marks, or to achieve a more aged appearance.
